The Order is on sale now!

I am thrilled to announce that The Order is finally here, and the reviews are in! It’s always exciting to see the book find its own life in the world, and especially gratifying this year to see it bringing some happiness (and escape) in this uncertain time.
“Can’t put it down. Won’t put it down. I’m fully captured and enthralled by Daniel Silva’s The Order.”
— Bob Woodward
“A refreshingly hopeful thriller for troubled times…will quickly take its reserved seat atop most best-seller lists.”
— Booklist (starred review)
“Relevant and compelling…Engaging and deftly paced, another thoughtfully entertaining summer read from Silva.”
Kirkus (starred review)
You can read more on the reviews page.
As a reminder, the first chapter of The Order can be read here. You can also listen to an excerpt on the HarperAudio Soundcloud page, and download an excerpt from Apple Books using the Apple Books app on your desktop, iPhone, or iPad.
Finally, thank you for all your support, kind posts, and messages. It is hard to believe this is the 20th book in the Gabriel Allon series. Tours, reviews, and media help get the books into people’s living rooms, but word-of-mouth recommendations from readers like you get Gabriel Allon into people’s hearts.

THE ORDER, on sale July 14

Gabriel Allon’s next adventure, The Order goes on sale July 14!

There are a few things you should be aware of. First and foremost, as in years past, signed editions are available for pre-order from Barnes & Noble. These limited signed editions usually sell out long before the book goes on sale, so I encourage you to place your order soon.

The full description is now available on the book page, but I’m happy to share a short teaser here:

Legendary spy and art restorer Gabriel Allon has slipped into Venice for a much-needed holiday with his wife and two young children. But when Pope Paul VII dies suddenly, Gabriel is summoned to Rome by the Holy Father’s loyal private secretary, Archbishop Luigi Donati. A billion Catholic faithful have been told that the pope died of a heart attack. Donati, however, has two good reasons to suspect his master was murdered. The Swiss Guard who was standing watch the night of the pope’s death is missing. So, too, is the letter the Holy Father was writing during the final hours of his life. A letter that was addressed to an old friend: Gabriel.

While researching in the Vatican Secret Archives, I came upon a most remarkable book…

The book is a long-suppressed gospel that calls into question the accuracy of the New Testament’s depiction of one of the most portentous events in human history. For that reason alone, the Order of St. Helena will stop at nothing to keep it out of Gabriel’s hands. A shadowy Catholic society with ties to the European far right, the Order is plotting to seize control of the papacy. And it is only the beginning…

Check back soon for updates on how we are handling the book tour this year. We are working on creative ways for me to see as many of you as possible
